I should not be here... blogging about my day

I should be studying or writing my article right now... obviously I'm not or else I wouldn't be here writing this post. I finally got a good comment from my brother. Oh.. wait let me rewind a bit and tell you the details...

As I had said before, I am preparing for an admission test which is consists of 4 parts - 3 parts are all MCQs and 1 part is essay writing. I asked my eldest brother to help me out with my essays because the suggested topics are related to law, politics, education... basically general knowledge. By the way, I DON'T HAVE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE!!! The only reason why I flipped through the newspaper is because of the entertainment section and the comic section. In other words, I hardly read newspapers. AT ALL. So you can see... I am totally screwed for this test. Shoo Shoo!! Shoo the negativity away!

I practiced writing two essays to my brother and his verdict was... in his exact words...

"Your english is really poor!"
"
...there are much too many mistakes here for someone with your level of education."
I was like... DAMN. I trust my brother. He made my essay looked like a primary schooler quality. To think I have been deceived by some many people, saying that my english is good... Obviously you haven't met my brother.

"...your essay lacks an element of maturity."
Double the blow! I'm already in my early twenties and yet still I'm not considered as someone mature... sad...

"You need to plan out your essay." (paraphrased)
Sigh... that's my weak point. I always write whatever that comes to mind without really thinking about whether do I make sense or not. Just like right now. Not thinking much and just writing.

For my defence, I wrote each essay under the allocated 30 minutes. Actually it is just an excuse to make me feel less inferior anyway.

SO... today I rewrote one of the essays and took I don't know about 2 hours to complete it. I got a reply from my brother also 2 hours later and guess what he said?

"The tone of this essay is certainly better than the previous two that you've written so far..."
YES!!! I know I know, I get overhappy over little things like this! At least I could say I did my best. Downside is... I am still making grammatical mistakes and the time I used to write the essay was too long. I am glad he noticed that I am making the effort.

Back to the present, I should be working hard on my next essay and article for submission. However, every time I get a praise or a good commnet by someone, I slack.... I slack a whole lot. Just like right now, watching Singaporean's videos and reading XiaXue's blog. Tsk Tsk... Yupe I am definitely screwed if I don't buck up. I just don't get it why I can get so happy over little things like this??? That is something I will never know or don't bother to find out.

I better get back to work then... Maybe....

Food Heaven in Aussie Land

Guess who's back? *grins*

A week's vacation in Adelaide, Australia was AWESOME! I had a blast!!! And ate a whole lot of good food... That's why I wrote "KimberlyMay is fat, stinky and exhausted" in my Facebook status. Anyway, I seriously do not know how to begin my vacation. So, I will let the pictures do all the talking for now. I am suffering from PVC (post-vacation syndrome) = EXHAUSTION. And they say vacation is a time of relaxation.... yeah, right.... *rolling my eyes* All I wanna do is to sit back, relax and lie in bed all day long. However, that fantasy will never come true because my mum will make sure that there is something for me to do. Sigh... where was I again? Oh right... Pictures! The main theme for this first compilation of photos is FOOD. Will upload more photos soon. Over 500 pictures taken... man... sometimes I wish the internet speed will miraculously increase a hundredfold! Then I wouldn't have to wait for it to load.....

Four Weeks++

Well... I'll be! This is the fifth week already since I last came home with my Mum and bro. Ok, recap... umm...... eh...... what the hell have I been doing these past few weeks?!?!?!? For your information, the past few weeks were spent rather eventful, I would say.

Week One:
Spent a lot of quality time with my second eldest brother where our daily activities consisted of arguing, explanations, shouting, messing around, getting on my mother's nerves and shopping. You gotta feel the loooveeee...~ This was taken the very first morning we got back from Subang together. The blurry effect was because....I just woke up at that time =S

This was taken before he left to Aussie.

Week Two:
The two of us went to shop a present for our Mum. If you knew our Mum, you know it is an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT task. She has a particular taste and is sooooo picky. Thankfully, we went through all the trouble and SHE LOVES IT!!!! We were in awe but we were relief that she ACTUALLY LOVES it!

Of course, when you are in the Pearl of the Orient, good food is never too far away.

Seafood Pizza

Pasta

Authentic Italian Appetizers

Drool, people, drool...~!!

Oh we also celebrated our grandmother's birthday! She is 86 and still going STRONG!!

Week Three:
Sent my brother off to the airport. Saw that Nando's is FINALLY closed down and replaced with McD's!!! I am never a fan of Nando's, I just don't like the food there. I am so glad that McDonald's is in the airport!!! It's about TIME!

Then, my Mum and I went to help out Dad with his work. Saw some pretty interesting cases. A lot of people getting accidents these days. They just came in, bleeding here and there. It was scary to look at in the beginning but after a while, you'll get used to it. Then there is a particular case where an elderly woman had an infection at her feet and she is also diabetic. However, she was ignorant about the condition and obviously it gotten so bad to the stage that she had feet gangrene. It was absolutely disgusting and odorous BUT very interesting. Why do I say that? It is because when my dad literally cut a hole at her feet to drain out the pus (A LOT) and blood, she felt no pain at all. She didn't scream nor budged. She just sat there and let procedure take place. Pretty amazing :P I was not able to take the pictures because it was gross and I don't want the camera to be stained with pus.

Week Four and Five:
Met up with my best friends during the night as I was working during the daytime. It's always the three of us. The funny thing is that, we are absolutely nothing alike and yet we can be truthful and real to each other about our lives, families and the things that we are dealing with.

Ohhh... I finally cut my hair. Can't stand it for having it too long. And now, have to start packing for one-week VACATION!!! Can't wait. Fill you in soon. Toodles!

.......

Saw bro off the airport about two hours ago...

Waiting him to call when he reached Singapore...

waiting...

waiting...

and waiting...

Only then my Mum tells me he is not going to call... -_-lll

Oh well... off to bed then. Nighty night people.

A Slothful Update

I'm just feeling so lazy to blog nowadays... actually just lazy to do anything at all. I'm just... sitting there... staring at my laptop.... hours after hours.... yeah, I know. It's not healthy. Anyway, just a very brief update on my very very short holiday.

Eat A LOT~! A lot as in until for a moment there I was afraid of good food.

Spend a lot of time meeting up with friends but always at the SAME place.
Love you, SIN and SOO. Can't wait to meet up with you guys again!

Went shopping with my Mum - She's on a mission to "feminine-ise" my wardrobe!

Read a spiritual book, entitled "CHARACTER".

Slept late - WEIRD for me because I sleep earlier in SJ.

Spoke to my two brothers - miss them.

So that wraps up my two weeks in Penang. I'm going to Sabah tomorrow! I am pretty excited and nervous about that. Classes starts next week!!! Where has all the time gone to?

The Lair Awaits

Hibiscus blooming, Salmon fish and prawns on the table, first day covers stacking up for me to sort, a pile of clothes waiting for me to iron... Yupe... I am definitely home!

Whenever I reached Sungai Nibong and got out of the bus, my Mum will always, I do mean ALWAYS, say these two things, "Girl, you gained/lost weight" and "Girl, you need a haircut!"I guess that one of the little things I love about my Mum, so predictable at times. Hehe... She hasn't changed at all. =P

Dad wasn't home yet when I got back as he was out for his usual run. I can't believe that when he got back, all sweating and dripping wet, I went to hug him! Yes, it was sticky and wet... but Dad is Dad, he did lose some weight though...

Anyway, this post will be short, but here are some pictures of our dinner at TGI's Fridays yesterday with some friends to celebrate the end of examinations =) Food was awesome! Accompanied by a group of wacky and hilarious group of friends~!

Since I am a "dessertarian" (Is it a word?), I shall put the desserts first! *Slurp*

Un-Wasted Holidays

Sigh... I'm going back to SJ in less than two days. Don't get me wrong, I am actually looking forward to go back. However, there is that nagging feeling of not wanting to leave home. I don't know how to describe it in words but I'll try... it is like a tinge of guilt, with a dash of reluctance and a whole lot of love. Feeling rather emo right now... >_<

Though this must be the longest holiday that I ever spend at home, it wasn't as wasteful as I thought it would be. Hmm... where should I start? Well, when I first got home, I remembered I was dreading about my results that were coming out in a few weeks. Before my results were known, I finally received my father's approval for me to obtain my salvation as he is a atheist. That kind of happiness was really indescribable after one is immersed out of the water. I can still recall that I couldn't stop smiling. :) Lucky for me, I passed my examinations as well!!

Then the two months industrial training began. I met some very pleasant people over there. I must say, working is not my cup of tea but that is unavoidable regardless how much I try to stall it. I just hope that in the future, I am able to like what I do. I don't know what the future holds for me, but I do know that because it is such a mystery, it will be something really amazing and special :P

Besides working, I met up with several of my friends - my two best friends, one gospel-friend-turn-into-believer (so happy for her), a few of my college and high school friends. Had my first taste of going out at night, not really a big fan of it though. I would get pretty worn out after a long night. Right now, my eyes are filled with dark circles below it. SOoooo UNATTRACTIVE!!!

Another thing worth mentioning is that I bought my very first guitar!!!! A guitar to call my own! I absolutely love it! It's such a shame that I can't bring it down to SJ with me this time. Sigh... I'm gonna miss it! Read three novels, this is one of my favourite pastimes which I rarely have the chance to do it. Glad I had the holidays to do it. Anyway, before I even realize it, the attachment work has finally come to an end. Kinda miss the people there but not the work. :P

As soon as the completion of my training, I went straight into house cleaning mode in the preparation for CNY. My room has never been so clean before! Ate plenty during CNY, grow so fat now.... -_-" Visited my grandma. Don't let her fragile appearance deceive you, her mental alertness is still sharp as ever!
She is already 80 something but still going strong! God really bless her.

My relatives - you can see the resemblance :D

OH! Didn't experience a blackout for a very very long time. One night, the whole house just went dark. Moreover, it happened at night. Everything was pitch black, I can't even see my own my hand! After wandering aimlessly, blinded by the darkness, I finally found my handphone to give me some light to move about. The whole neighborhood was extremely dark but it's kinda pretty, don't you think?

Now CNY is almost over, it is time to get ready to go back to studying life. Hmm... my clothes are still in a pile waiting for me to iron them... so I better get going... Until next time. Toodles!

An Escape from Everything

I haven't gone out and have fun for the longest time.... well, actually it's been three weeks, still, it seems pretty darn long. Yesterday finally came the opportunity for me to just get out of the house. Sometimes the aura of the world just mess with your conscience and drags you down in the pit, causing you to suffer the next day after much play... It's tragic I know and yet I do it all the time. It means I am so so weak.....

Anyway, went out with my cousins and friend yesterday. We went to Tony Roma's for a late lunch. Never been there before so we thought of giving it a go. It's setting and atmosphere somewhat somewhat similar to T.G.I's Friday. The food portion-wise is comparative to the prices set. The cheaper it is, the smaller the portion it is and vice versa. Moreover, I think at night it changes from a restaurant to a sophisticated pub as they serve a lot of various alcohol such as martini and wine. Food is not too bad but it could be better. I had the set lunch. The soup of the day was 'chicken noodle' soup. The name really sounds weird but it is literally bits and pieces of chicken boiled with bow-tie pasta and celery. I really dislike celery. The soup was not good at all, they have put too much pepper in it. Strange combination, too bad it doesn't work out that well. Later, I have Marinated Chicken Grill. The chicken was extremely small but it was very filling due to the french fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw tasted exactly like KFC's. Oh, the best part is that you are able to get unlimited refill on the soft drink that you ordered. Overall, it was just ok, I wouldn't say 5/5.

After a heavy lunch, we went to catch Transformers! I have been so anxious to watch the show as I got a lot of feedback from my friends saying that it was totally awesome. And I have to agree with them. It's funny, action-packed and I absolutely love the sound when they transform. The only critic that I would make is that the modal of the transformers in the movie differs slightly from the original in the cartoons back in the early nineties. It was really great as you got the hot actress and goofy male leading actress, you are definitely in for a good time.

We went to my cousin's place for dinner after we picked up my other cousin from class. My aunt has prepared Fried Chicken, Steamed Fish, Mixed Vegetables, Prawns, Fried Lady's Finger and ABC soup. It was insane for her to cook so much. For her to take the time to slice, dice, season and cook, it was really unbelievable, I really felt the love. We prayed sincerely together with the elderly brothers and sisters before we eat. I was extremely full but there was more to come. They had prepared star fruits, mangoes and ice cream. They just want to fill us up. I probably gained a few pounds since yesterday.

Finally the night come to an end, they dropped me back home and I fell straight into my bed and slept for nine hours. *sarcastically* Great way to burn the calories..... just great....

Brand New Bag

Mood: Pumped Up
Currently Listening to Give It to Me by Timbaland feat. Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake.

Library books are due today and I can't assess my Monash Library website to renew them, which really sucks and I have to pay the fine on Monday. Sigh.... cleaned the whole house by sweeping and mopping the floors. I was thought to be a very typical day that is until my phone rang.....

My godmother (who is also my aunt) came down to KL for the weekend! Hmmm... the term 'godmother' does sound older compare to the word 'aunt'. Anyway, my aunt went to visit my cousin and her mum whom have just got back from China a few days ago. Along with them, we went to SAKAE SUSHI in Subang Parade for dinner. I was really "kou fu" (it means my mouth is blessed with food in Mandarin).

It was very interesting because it was my very first time to enter into a restaurant where we could place our orders with the built-in computer on the wall. Though it is efficient and food were served within minutes after we click the "CONFIRM" button, it does reduce a lot of interaction between the serving ones and the customers. It's just a weird feeling that I had at that particular moment. On the other hand, the food was great except the eel 'Unagi'. It tasted a bit different but not in a good way. There are no good quality Unagi nowadays as they are not from Japan anymore. Most stock were obtained from China as it is cheaper in cost. It was a major disappointment for me because I really like Unagi... not anymore though.

My cousin who went abroad to China to work, gave me a little present.

At first I thought that it was something for you to keep CDs in it, actually it is a handbag! It is really adorable with all it's comic strips! Man... I think I have too many bags already....

*YAWN* Au Revior people.......

*UPDATE: I finished Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows in 6 hours! Not my best record though. It was surprisingly good and definitely better than the last two books. I love the way it ends it as part of me wants him to die and another of me do not want him to perish. The ending has both!

Year One - so LONG!

Wow... it has been quite a while (three months!) since I last made an entry here. How have you all been? I hope you are doing fine. Well, I have finally finished my exams for the first year of my three-years undergraduate degree and I'm having my holidays right this very moment.

Been here for two weeks already and I felt like I wasted this period of time. This is rather something new to me.. I mean.. I used to enjoy the holidays especially when I do not need to do anything, all I did was just lay back, watch tv, sleep and eat. That was the definition of holidays in my vocabulary. Now I feel like I'm wasting my time doing nothing though I do enjoy some entertainment and amusement every now and then. Strangely, it does not seem fun to me anymore. Rather it is like just a tool to help pass the time. Sigh...

As I suffered sheer 'boredomness' (is there such a word??), my Mum came up with some chores for me to do! Typical Mum, always knows best for her little girl, "this is for your OWN good!' Not to say that I'm complaining, I do enjoy helping around the house... well, it is SOMETHING that I am good at :) Besides, I also have the opportunity to spend more time with my Mum as she will tell me endless stories of the modern world with morals of how to deal with all sorts of people, how to find MR Right, how to survive in society and also how to make friendships last. Yes I know I know and I absolutely agree, Girls can definitely talk! I think, in that way, a female's mind does mature faster than a male. I guess that is the reason why boys cannot understand us girls as our emotions will always take the lead. There are three components that made up a human being and they are the Body, Soul and Spirit. Emotions such as anger, fear, bliss and so on arouse from Soul. Women tend to act based on their feelings which does complicate things and at times worsen an existing situation. To me, turning to my Spirit is the way to guide me on this journey of life including relationships, friends, family and one's personality. It is easy turning to one's spirit but staying IN the spirit is another thing. Well... thankfully that we are in the transforming process to become mature in Spirit.

A new year begins with a new problem

Well, what a better way to start the new year with a family problem~! Yeah right... as if... Anyway, for the past two years, I have been going steady with someone. And I never told my family about it due to several reasons. I guess that I was afraid of them for disapproving me to have a relationship at such a young age for I knew that my parents was really, and I DO mean really strict. To keep the long story short, my mum found out that I had a boyfriend the day before yesterday. BUMMER~~

She called me to go to her room that night. She asked me a few questions to get things straighten out. Then BOOM~! Volcano erupted~! She was really angry and upset. I guess it's really natural for a mum to act that way when her kid disobeys and lies to her. Her words really hit me hard. She made me feel that as though she could never trust me again and moreover, she disapproves me having a relationship. You have no idea how that felt. It's like, I don't know how to put it into words, but, it felt like my life was over. Really, it's like my heart just crash and burn... My God... I was so devastated. I kept wondering why can't my mum be like the others, as least they are not that strict and overprotective over their children. Tears didn't work for me that night... I didn't feel any better after that... My boyfriend called and I told him what happened. He comfort me that everything will turn out all right. The best thing about my boyfriend is that, even though he is scared, afraid or terrified, he doesn't let you sense it, which is actually quite comforting in a way. As though you can rely on him no matter what. :) Well, I'm really thankful that he understands and did not let me go through this alone.

I know my mum loves me and I know she wants the best for me... I guess I need to see in her perspective of things.... I pray that God will help me through this.....
