Putting my two cents in it...

Two things happen today... One good and one bad. *after 5 minutes* Wait... scratch that, make that three. This morning, I received an email that goes... Lol... I didn't mention about this contest on my blog. So I better make some clarifications. Earlier in the month of April, as I was surfing SurfLoft.com, I saw an interesting title "Caricatures". I had no idea what a caricature is. According to Wikipedia, a caricature is 'a portrait that exaggerates or distorts the essence of a person or thing to create an easily identifiable visual likeness.' So the post was about a contest and the prize is a free caricature! I was really intrigued and said to myself, "Why not?" Spontaneously, I entered the contest. I never really expect to win, actually. I kept saying to myself, "The probability of you winning is very low. Don't get your hopes up!" HAhaha... I was so thrilled when I found out this morning that I won!!!! I had sent my picture to the artistic dynamic duo, theeggyolks. Go check out their artworks! They are pretty amazing! Now I just need to wait patiently for my caricature to be drawn....!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!! That was the good news of the day.

HOWEVER, the mood was ruined as something happen later that night. I was talking on the phone with a certain someone, we had a fight. It reminds me of the fight we had before. It's still the same situation that both of us haven't overcome yet. I really can't understand her in this particular issue. I don't see her views. She got mad and we fought over the phone. Sigh... it gets so freaking frustating some times when it comes to living and interacting with people. I feel that the Lord is giving me so many environments and situations that I can't or don't know how to deal. I was really sad and confused about what I should do next. However, after praying and submitting myself to the Lord, I felt a lot better. There was still that little uneasiness stirring within me, that is when the Lord gave me another situation that completely diverts my attention from the fight.

What happened??? It happened JUST NOW. A cockroach was on the wall!!! That totally spooked me out! Crap, gotta kill this little cretin! I don't even know how it got in and where it came from! Thankfully, this one doesn't fly. If it does, I will run away! Anyway, after killing the cockroach, I feel way much better right now. HAha.. now I can smile and go to sleep peacefully. Good night.

My One Day Trip to Melaka

Left the house at 7:30AM in the morning and only got back at 11:00PM.... Absolutely TIRING!!! Undoubtedly it was tiring but it was truly enjoyable as it is my very first experience of attending two Lord's Table Meeting at two different localities! This is actually my second trip to Melaka. The last time I went to Melaka was in 2006 and I was attending for a campus students blending. Here are some old pictures of the sisters and I. I looked so young!

And as for today... I am too lazy and too tired to give more details... So I'll let the pictures do the talking for now.

"St. John's Fort was built by the Dutch during the 18th century is situated on St. John's Hill and was a former site of a chapel dedicated to St. John, the Baptist. According to history, the Archinese attacked Melaka in 1629 and destroyed the chapel. The fort was then used by the Archinese as their base when they attacked the Portuguse who were holding out in the Francisan Monastery on Bukit China and completely destroyed the Monastery. It is interesting to note that the cannon embrasures face inland and not towards the sea as the locals at that time were attacking Melaka from the hinterland." - Sejarah Malaysia.

Trust

Trust… Is it that hard to trust someone? Is it hard to believe in someone? No, it’s not difficult at all… It is so much easier to believe others than believing in your own self. They say it is because that you don’t have faith in yourself, that’s why people are doubtful of your capabilities. Then how much longer must one prove that he/she can be trusted? It is just plain irritating and discouraging at the same time when they are right in the end… It just lowers one’s self esteem… or is it just because of pride? Unwilling to admit defeat and proving the other is wrong… are all just self-pride, aren’t they? Sigh… emotionally it seems so complicated, clueless about how to deal with it.

Thankfully, at least I know now that when others do not have faith in you or your capabilities, do not trust in your capabilities to do a certain thing, no matter how hurt and useless you may feel, there will ALWAYS be ONE Person believing in you no matter how untrustworthy, irresponsible or despicable you are in person.

“Oh Lord Jesus, thank You Lord,

For having such a mercy on Your slave,

Thank You for loving me the way that I am,

Believing in me for the things that I thought that I could handle or couldn’t handle,

Lord, I am willing, willing to let Christ make home in my heart,

Lord, I want to live under Your light.

Lord, continue to expose me more and more in my daily living,

Turn me to You whenever and whatever,

May I become a useful vessel to You, Lord Jesus.

Cause me to believe You when my faith is small,

Cause me to trust You when my strength is frail,

Cause me to love You more and more,

To know You better. Amen”

Walk on Water

Sometimes I really do feel like Peter, one of the disciples.

Especially the part when the Lord was walking on water.

I can feel the Lord telling me, "O you of little faith~!"

Yes I do let the surroundings deceived me... well... most of the times.

Gotta learn to trust Him more. Have faith~!

Life is Full of Meaning when He is here

Lately I attended my church conferences where they spoke concerning "Experiencing and Enjoying Christ to Abound in the Work of Christ According to His Full Ministry of Three Stages - Incarnation, Inclusion and Intensification". Incarnation is the first stage which is the stage of Christ as a man in the flesh; the work of the ministry in this stage produces redeemed people. The second stage is the stage of His inclusion - the stage of Christ as the life-giving spirit; the work of the ministry in this stage produced the church and produces the local churches. Intensification is the third stage of Christ as the sevenfold intensified Spirit; the work of the ministry in this stage is to produce overcomers as today's Zion.

Though there are some which I still do not understand, I will share what I enjoyed throughout the conferences. I treasured that we, the fallen man/sinners, are redeemed by precious blood of Jesus Christ. It means that there is a change in ownership. We do not belong to ourselves anymore, neither we belong to Satan, the devil but we belong to God! God has bought us with His precious blood. I was reminded again because this is the fact that draws me to believe in the Lord in the first place. I was young when I heard that the Lord Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to cleanse all our sins. At that time, I found the Lord Jesus to be so... merciful to save sinners of this world. Now I am shown further that the Lord has redeemed us so that we may receive the greatest blessing, which is the Triune God (the Father, the Son and the Spirit) as the Life-giving Spirit dwelling in us for our enjoyment! Oh, I really need to be reminded again and again about this.

You know, especially after examinations, I have been feeling a bit lost in the sense that, I don't what to do. I wake up in the morning and started to think, "OK, what am I going to do today?"I have been so busy preparing for my examinations and now that it is over, now what? It just really show me that whatever our goals or responsibilities we have in life, is really just temporary. Once it is accomplished or done, more aims and new objectives will be made to keep us going on with our life. So I just realized that, for me, my manner of life is very vain. However, I am so glad that I am able to enjoy God with the brothers and sisters through the Lord's word everyday, through this nourishing supply, I am able to be saved from my vain manner of life bit by bit. I don't know what the Lord has in stores for me but I know that as long as I turn to Him and repent, He will save me from being spiritually dead, anxiety and my vain manner of life. That is what I enjoyed throughout the conference. Good night everyone.

True Love

If there's such love in the human race,
To meet all our need with wondrous grace,
Firm and endless and free,
Like the high mount and sea,
Our dear Lord need not a human be;
In the dark, He has heard,
How I sigh, how I pine,
On the way, He has seen,
How I wonder in life.

In His love to us He has drawn nigh,
Coming to us from His throne on high.
Seeking me without rest,
Thirst and hunger did taste,
On the cross the Lord paid all my debt,
He arose from the grave,
All the sinners He saved,
Joined with me, He filled me with His faith.

Love I've found within the human race,
Of all love in heav'n and earth the best,
Firm and endless and free,
Like the high mount and sea,
True and precious, through eternity;
He's with me all my days,
Leading me all the way;
O my Lord, O my love,
"I love You!" 'Tis my prayer.

Labour Day Outing

Since it is a public holiday, normally it will be the day for everyone to sleep a little bit more, to pay off the sleeping debt that we have accumulate throughout the semester. XP Not us, though! We, the campus students, woke up at 5 in the morning, to prepare breakfast for our little outing today to Taman Bukit Jalil. We left the house at 6:30AM and reached there at about 7:00AM. It was a beautiful morning. The park was really huge and it was very serene and pretty. The fresh smell of Mother Nature in the morning was really gives you a soothing and relaxing feeling. So we came to a 'pondok', and had our morning revival with the brothers and sisters from IMU. Haven't seen Ho Ching and Krystal for quite a while! Was really happy that I get to pat on Ho Ching's head again :P We sang a hymn before we have our breakfast. It's nice to get out of the house and do something else for a change. I really enjoyed myself today :P Here are some pictures for the day. Thank you brother GY for the pictures!

Sick Reality

Coming home for the weekend is always a refuge for me, mentally and physically. It is always a comfort. However, reality never gives me a break.

While having some heart to heart conversations with my Mum, she told me that a sister we know is having skin cancer, stage 4. She has melanoma and it is the most serious type of all skin cancer. I was really shocked because she is only in her thirties. To my understanding, I always thought Caucasians would have a higher chance of getting skin cancer as they are much fairer, which makes them more vulnerable. She didn't want to let a lot of people know about her condition and that even her colleagues have no idea what she is going through. I'm sure she has her own reasons for doing so. In moments like this, I always feel rather cold, as in not worrying much about it. In my heart, I always believe that everything happens for a reason and I also believe that God's purpose in that particular situation will be manifested through her and to everyone around her. Though I can't understand what is it like for her or how she is feeling, I trust in the Lord will guide her through. That's why sometimes I feel that I'm kind of cold, not worrying much about it. I know there is only one thing that I can do and that is to pray. May the Lord give her strength to overcome her present situation.

Trust in Jehovah with all your heart,
Do not rely on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
O the depth of the riches
And wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments
And untraceable His ways!
Because out from Him and through Him
And to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

P.S.
Is it just me or is quite a number of people having cancer lately? So far I already know three people having cancer. Sigh... sick reality.

Where is your heart?

This is going to be a short post as I'm having Pharmacology Test tomorrow. *horror* Anyway, I just want to share a bit on what I enjoy tonight during the prayer meeting.

There were eight saints from China came to the prayer meeting tonight and they told us a lot of testimonies of the church life in China. Though China is still under the control of People's Republic of China, the saints there are still willing to sacrifice their life for the Lord. I can't really imagine how their life really is even though they had said a lot about it but I am sure that life is definitely not easy for them. Heck, life is never easy in the first place. However, one thing from their testimonies that really captures my attention, which is the thing that keeps them going forward and being motivated, is - their heart. Where does your heart lie upon? The world or God? If our heart is for the Lord, then whatever we do or say, will be for Christ, through Christ, with Christ and by Christ. I suppose this matter touches me deeply is because that my heart is never single and pure. Temptations would always distract me away from the path of life, not just in terms of spirituality but also in responsibility and priority. Whatever you set your heart upon, that is what's keeping you motivated and moving on. Therefore, set your heart on the things of Christ, as it is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life... John 6:63.

Red Light , so Stop

Woke up feeling moody and guilty. I had given a confirmation to someone that I would go to that event. However, I couldn't make it. It sucks of course. I was really looking forward to it too... Not able to do what you had promised, it's just an empty promise filled with words that has no worth at all. So just feeling moody right now.

Well... thinking about it, I guess I deserved it... I prayed yesterday that Lord may manage my time to do the things that I'm suppose to do including the event that I wanted to go to. In the end, He made me stayed at home. This reminds me of myself when I was in my first year at university. First time away from home, wanted to do a lot of stuff and there was a lot of distractions as well. Hence, I eventually ended up neglecting my responsibilities. I don't want to make the same mistake again.

Therefore, I do not want to feel moody anymore and I want to make full use of the extra time to fulfill my duty so that I do not disappoint the Lord during my university life. I would like to share something I enjoyed this week...

Ephesians 6:10 - 'Finally, be EMPOWERED in the Lord and in the MIGHT of His STRENGTH.'

I do admit that I have a lot of weakness and I do get distracted easily, however, I know that whatever that I am not or whatever I need, He is. I may not get to do the things that I want all the time and it's all right. Light will show us the way, but strength and power will enable us to walk the road.

God Hath Not Promised Skies Always Blue

God Hath Not Promised Skies Always Blue

I took some time off from my work and learned a new hymn today. It goes like this...

Verse 1:
God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

Chorus:
But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

Verse 2:
God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

Verse 3:
God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain, rocky and steep,
Never a river, turbid and deep.

I really enjoy this hymn as it reflects on our everyday life. Though there may be obstacles and hardships along the way, the Lord will provide us strength, endurance and grace to make through each passing day. I don't know what my future will be, I don't know what kinds of people I will meet or what problems will I face, but I know that the Lord will be the light that shines on my path to the time that is yet to come.

REBORN

I've got BAPTIZED this morning!!!!!!! SO HAPPY!!!!!

Aren't you satisfied and thankful
that our Lord has brought you in
where His pleasures and His riches flow so free?
So be happy and be joyful, in the spirit feast on Him,
so God's garden can bear fruit abundantly.

I'm so happy in this lovely place,
in the garden growing in His grace!
There is no finer pleasure than to eat the living tree,
and to get the living water into me.

One Step A Day to Realize Something New

Another paper to totally forget about, Physiology. I still have two more papers to go and I'll be free from examinations for three months, I think... After the exam, took the time to have an early dinner with some of my house-sisters. Often I thought to myself that, we are all different people, coming from diverse cultures, brought up by parents with various perspectives in life and we are only brought together to stay in the same house because we believe in God. Through today's early dinner, I found that we are quite common in some ways. We get irritated at times, we like to have our own space, we like to pretend we don't mind about certain things because we don't want trouble, we always figured these things will soon pass away and we figured something better will come our way. The truth is... yes these things will soon pass away and something better will come our way but whether we take the time to overcome the problems that we face or the time to know the people around us, that is the real lesson that should be paid attention to. I never knew some of them are facing the same situations as I did and still do. I just realized time is constantly flying by and it's too precious to just let it go just like that. Some of my house-sisters are going to depart soon and follow the paths which God had prepared for them. Though time may not be on my side this time, I do hope I do get the chance to know them even more in times to come, even though there is a possibility that I do not get to see them anymore.

So, if you are reading this, you know who you are. In faith, I know we shall meet again. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you guys all the best and God's grace is definitely sufficient for us in every situations and every obstacles that we face. I will miss you guys dearly! Do keep in touch.

Words of Encouragement

多少的時候,我們有苦難;多少的時候,我們有喜樂;
多少的時候,我們需要有一個人,
可以讓我們把我們的愁苦或者喜樂告訴他;

Prayer Meeting in Action

I forgot when this was taken but it was taken on one of the Tuesdays nights that we have our prayer meeting with the brothers and sisters. And I don't remember why they wanted to take pictures of us. Sister Apphia being cheeky that night, took the camera and started clicking away like a professional photographer. Fortunately for her, she took a picture of me with my lazy eye after I took a bit of the egg tarts provided that night.

I looked rather odd now, don't I?

Strength from the Lord

These few days have been so hectic, I feel that I am having a hard time breathing, literally.

Yesterday, I had a lab replacement session at 8:30 in the morning. I knew that it was going to be a long day. Surely enough, the practical took so long that it only ends at 1pm as we need to incubate the different samples at different times. It was a big mistake not taking breakfast that morning. I dumped lab at 12.40pm for I was already late for a group discussion on our Physiology Presentation that is going to be held on Monday, which is tomorrow. We got some work done and we finished discussion at around 2:10pm. Had lunch with my housemate at CornerHouse. We ate Wan Tan Mee as we rarely have the chance to eat at that shop. It now cost RM4 per plate! The stall seller increases the price... Sigh... Anyway, I got back at 2:35pm, took a bath, prepared my dinner and packaged it. At 3:25pm, my housemates and I went to the local church in Puchong for Video Training on the Epistles of John, 3 books in the Bible. The title of the 2 messages of the day were The Anointing and Abiding in Christ. The messages were really amazing, I was so full of joy as the messages are not merely doctrine and knowledge but they are so practical and enjoyable that they can be apply to our everyday living in our pursue of the Lord Jesus Christ. There was an hour break between the two messages and I used that to study my Anatomy. I don't know if I can still remember it now though.
Finally, when all of us got back home, it was already 10pm. Saturday is my turn to do the cleaning. Thankfully, a sister helped me sweep the floor and I just needed to mop them.

What's amazing is that, I prayed to the Lord a day earlier, telling him that I have absolutely no confidence in finishing all the tasks that I wanted to do yesterday. Miraculously, I didn't waste any time and I had completed what I wanted for the day. The same thing happen today as well. I told the Lord that I need to study my Anatomy, I need to rehearse and edit the Physiology Presentation, take a nap, iron my clothes and wash my clothes, not to mention the weekly meeting on Sundays and the additional Video Training. I still can't believe that I did all of that. It was really a blessing from the Lord.

50th Independance Day

It was MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA! Normally, most people would celebrate this special occasion by going to shopping malls, back to hometowns to get together with loved ones or chill out at home, however, I spent the day entirely differently. I went to video training held by my church on the Epistles of John's messages. It started from 9:30am till 3.oopm because there were two sessions. It was enlightening and enjoyable in the sense that I did learned a lot about myself and how much I lack in certain things that I would not mentioned here. Personal stuff, you know. When I got back from the video training, the first thing I did was jumped on my bed and slept for three whole hours when I just planned to sleep for half an hour!!!!! I had no idea that I was this tired! When I woke up, I walked down the stairs and I saw......

STEAMBOAT!!!!

I mean I knew we were having a Love Feast for some of our gospel friends and sisters who were just newly saved so that we may know them even better, I didn't know we were going to have steamboat! I thought we were going to cook a few dishes as we would usually do. Well, I can't complain! It was really good! Moreover, we get to meet up with some sisters who study in MMU, Lynette and Doreen. Lynette is an excellent guitar player while I just met Doreen for the second time... I think... So I don't really know her that well yet. Too bad Siaw Yin couldn't make it, she would really like to blend with the sisters. Anyway, since I was in Dreamland just now and I didn't help out with the preparation for dinner, I decided to play my part in washing the dishes after dinner... It was an interesting day really as I thought that it was going to be an ordinary day like any other. I guess unpredictable things will happen when you least expected it.

Ordinary Day

"IDIOT!" I scolded myself as I searched through my bag, in and out. I had forgotten to bring my purse along, where my Student ID and money are all in it. Due to my forgetfulness, I can't borrow any reference books for my report which I planned to finish tonight and I had to borrow lunch money from my friend. Felt a bit embarrassed as I had to get money from my friend who I hardly hung out lately. She is a very good friend of mine but we hardly see each other around in campus 'cause most of our classes are different. Moreover, I am not the type of person who likes to borrow money from other. Sigh... I'm just glad that she didn't mind.

Besides that, I brought my laptop to campus to get some work done during the time break between classes. Huh... no cable electricity in most of the areas in the library. Disappointing as it is, I am glad that I did charged my laptop before I came. Didn't get to do much but at least there were some work could be done. I'm really hoping that I can finish this report by tonight. I don't want to see, feel, breathe or touch that report ever again once I am done with it. This is really taking too much of my time.

On the lighter note, though everything wasn't as pleasant and smooth-flowing as I wanted it to be, it wasn't that bad either. Was reminded with this Bible verse, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God - Phillipians 4:6." Anxiety makes people cranky... well, it makes me cranky and moody. I just need to center myself and let the peace of God fill my entire being.

I promised myself that I must finish the report by tonight. NO EXCUSES. So see ya!
