It is already the end of March and only now I post this up. Anyway, I will write more SOON!
The eve of Chinese New Year is considered as one of the most important holidays to the Chinese. It is the day where families are gathered together from all over the world to have a reunion dinner at one place. To others, it marks the end of the year and a new beginning to prosperity, luck, love, health and joy. As for me, this New Year's Eve was an unforgettable one. It has brought me plenty of restlessness, sweat and unhappiness.
It all began early in the morning on New Year's Eve, 2AM, to be specific. My house suddenly...
...went out of electricity. Without electricity, there was no air flow. So I woke up as it had gotten too warm. When I looked outside, I realized that only our house in the neighborhood is out of electricity. Sigh.. We tried to fix it, thinking that the electric switch might have just tripped, but it was all in vain. We went to bed around 4AM but we just laid there, waiting for the sun to rise, so that we can call the electrician.
Thankfully, the electrician taught us over the phone a few tricks and the electricity was back on! Immediately, we had to rush to the bus station to go down to KL. We NEARLY...
...missed the bus! We were grateful that the bus waited for us! However, luck was not on our side that day. During the bus ride, the inevitable happened.
The air conditioner in the bus broke down!!!!!!! Such bad luck!!! As you might have probably guessed, we were sweating like mad~! The extreme hot weather did not help either. We couldn't even get a shut-eye because it was too hot!!!
When we finally reached KL, we slept throughout the rest of the afternoon as we were too tired to do anything else. Just when we thought our misfortunes had finally come to an end, it left us with a surprise that none of us could have foreseen.

Our reunion dinner at a five-star hotel restaurant SUCKS big time!!! The food was so awful that we didn't even finish them!! Apparently, it was too crowded, the waiters got our orders mixed up and our food turned out to be cold. Sigh....
What a way to end the year, huh?

Stolen
The number plate on the front and back of a car was stolen. Funny that it happened on the day I borrowed the car from a friend... :'( very unlucky... What I do not understand is why they want to steal the car plate in the first place. It doesn't cost much anyway. Due to that incident, I had to go and make a police report. Not a place that I like to go as it reminds me of my previous visit where I need to make a report on my very first serious car accident. Not exactly a fond memory of mine... Anyway, I was feeling rather guilty for not taking care of the car properly. Fortunately, my friend was really understanding that she even paid for the new car plate herself! Sigh... That's the only interesting thing that happened today. OK. Back to the books!

Swine Flu Confirmed in Malaysia
Sigh... it is a sad sad news. One case of Swine Flu had been confirmed in Malaysia today! Normally, being the ignorant person as I am, I would not have be bothered by this sort of thing. However, it is because of this ONE case, I can kiss my class field trip to the factory of Guinness Anchor Berhad goodbye... *sniff* I was really looking forward to the trip.
Our Irish lecturer initially told us beforehand that due to the outbreak of swine flu, most of the factories are banned from giving any tours until the May 15th. If there are no sudden cases in Malaysia during that period, we can continue our tour on May 21st. So, it is such a conincidence that a case was confirmed TODAY, 15th MAY!!! I am a little bummed by it as I was really excited to see how beers and alcohols are mass produce in a large scale... Although the chances are slim, I am still being a little hopeful *clasping my hands together tightly*

Lecturer Arrested (Updated)
Our university's lecturer was arrested the day before yesterday! I do not know the EXACT details yet BUT there will be a protest going on outside our university later at 12PM! It is so shocking! Here is the link on the news! I shall update on the protest later this afternoon!
*Update at 3.16PM

My first encounter of watching the students protest for the arrest of their lecturer. As you can see in the pictures below, plenty of people are wearing black as a sign of supporting their lecturer's sedition act which caused him to be behind bars at the moment. Apparently he will be detained until Friday and this is NOT his first arrest!
The reporters, students and police officers were surrounding the brave protesters.
From the picture you can imagine how short I am.
Did you know how long the students were able to protest about the arrest?
*
*
*
10 MINUTES!!!!
The police only allow the students to protest for ONLY 10 MINUTES!!!
After that extremely short protest made by the students, the police officers started to get their names and contact details. There were not a lot of people, this is because our university did a very good job of covering it up. Those of the people wearing black, are the lecturer's students! I got to know it through my friend who is from the same faculty.
Below here are a few links if you guys are interested in knowing more.

WCH's arrest - A National Shame
Edited 9th May 2009
Well, our university lecturer was finally released peacefully yesterday at 3.35PM. I am glad that he was all right. Instead of criticizing and complaining about the police, the government or his arrest, he thanked the person who reported him to the authorities, whoever that may be! He said, "I need to thank whoever that made the decision to arrest me for making 1BLACKMalaysia a success... Thanks to all this negative publicity, the message is much clearer... Malaysians must know how to stand up for their rights." Interesting... I never thought about it in that sense... Hmmm... Anyway for further reading, please refer to this and this.

When things do not go my way....
After I had finished my 'didn't-go-so-well' examination on Friday, I gave myself a self-declared holiday for a week (even though classes are still going on). Yes, people, I am back to my humble abode all the way back to the Pearl of the Orient! It has been a crazy two weeks and I am sure it will get crazier now I am back home. Let me tell you what happen during my exam day. It's going to be a long and whinning post.
Friday 24th April 2009
I got up early in the morning, feeling rather queasy and nervous at the same time. It was the exam day and I felt totally unprepared at all. I left the house at 6:15AM and reach the Imperial Hotel KL at 7-ish in the morning. I was the earliest and there was nobody around. It was pretty scary at first but then I realized that my exam was scarier, I calmed down straight away. As I was doing some last minute revision, people started coming in... OLDER people were coming in... I was wondering did I got the exam date correct... I panicked for just that tiny moment thinking whether did I got the correct venue. After a while a lady started to brief us about what was going to happen during the exam and all the necessary registration stuff yadda yadda yadda... Apparently I was the only one taking the MCAT exam while the rest were taking some exams on accounts and business. Anyway, it was time for the exam. As I went in the room and registered myself for the exam, the computer went "SYSTEM ERROR".
*speechless*
WHAT THE HECK... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?
After the lady tried and tried again, she asked me to wait outside while she went to check with the main office. I was trying to calm myself down but then my mind started to think about other things such as "maybe I do not need to take my exam today" or "maybe it is just a technical problem" or "maybe I can go home" etc etc. Yupe, I was running away again. I am such a coward. I always wanted to avoid any obstacles in front of my path. Sigh... So after waiting for 40 minutes, she finally got the system working and I could take my exam. I can honestly tell you, after those 5 hours, I do not even remember what I was doing or what answers did I enter. In other words, my exam went bad. No doubt about that. Sigh...
After my exam (ended around 12:30PM), I took the KL monorail and ended up in KL Sentral. I was thinking of buying some things to bring back to Penang. As I was juggling whether should I go to KLCC or One-Utama, I was approached twice by two different ladies asking me to donate for the less fortunate people. Asking me to donate is fine but when they are asking for more than what I had donated, that is when I draw the line. Anyway, after all that, it was decided that I go to One-U as I was told there are more things to browse. HOWEVER, the thing is that... I did an embarassing thing... I WENT ON THE WRONG BUS and I ended up where, you ask? I ended up in KLCC... -_-lll sweat... Well, since I had already made the mistake and I was already in KLCC, I took the time to look around. Apparently, there will be a fashion show later in the evening but I couldn't stay for that though. After walking around KLCC for around 45 minutes, I didn't see anything that I would like to bring back. So decided to go back to Plan A. I headed down to the KTM and asked which station should I go to if I want to go to One-U. The person who was attending to me told me that I should get off at the station at Taman Bahagia. Ok, fast forward. Once I reached Taman Bahagia, I went down to the bus stop and I told them that I wanted to go to One-U. And guess what the bus driver told me, "Di sini tak ada bas pergi ke One-Utama! Hanya pergi ke DAMANSARA UTAMA!" I was like..... O....K.... However the bus driver was kind enough to bring me another bus stop where I could get a ride to One-U. I basically took the time to enjoy riding around KL and Selangor. Wait... there's more. When the RapidKL bus that was going to One-Utama arrived, I got up the bus and I realized that I do not have small change. What happen then? The bus driver KICKED me OUT of the bus! Hahahahaha... in a way I can't helped but to laugh at the day I was having so far. After exchanging some notes with the people at the road side, I finally got on another bus and headed straight down to One-Utama. By the time I reached One-Utama, it was already 4:30PM! In my head, I was telling myself, "I gotta go back soon before it gets too dark!" My body refuses to listen to my brain and I walked myself into One-Utama and went window-shopping for about... 20-25 minutes. THere was no buses heading to Subang Jaya. So I had no choice but to take the bus back to KL SENTRAL again. And because of that, the bus was caught in the jam. People kept coming into the bus didn't help the situation at all! I was really tired then. Finally I reached KL SENTRAL and I bought the KTM ticket to Subang Jaya as the buses to SJ will not arrived for the next one hour or so. I didn't want to wait to I straight away bought the ticket. HOWEVER, suddenly the announcement came, "We are sorry but the train to KLANG has been DELAYED. The train will arrived in another 30 minutes time." Oh... well... since it was half an hour, I had McD's for dinner. That was 7:30PM.
You see, when a train is delayed, what happens to the next few trains? They will be delayed as well. Because of that, there were over 100 people waiting to catch the train!!! When the first train came, everyone just rushed into the train without letting any room for the people inside the train to get out. I was like, 'no way, I'm not gonna squeezed my way in'. So I waited for the second train which will be arriving 5 minutes later. The same thing happened for the second train as well! It was mayhem! Everyone is pushing each other just to get into the train! Again, I said to myself, "Forget it! I'll just wait another 10 minutes for the third train to come!" Finally, I got on the third train and headed back to Subang Jaya. By the time I reached Sunway Pyramid, it already was 9:00PM. I walked home, took a bath, packed a little and went straight to bed. What a tiring day!
Saturday 25th April 2009
My bus was scheduled to leave at 8:00AM and guess what time did I wake up? 7:15AM!!!!!!!!!!! I was like 'DAMNED!!!' and I quickly jumped out of bed and got myself prepared as fast as I could. My alarm clock took a fine day to fail on me! Argh! You can imagine what a mess I was in! Running here and there, looking for my ticket, making last minute packing and running to the Sunway Pyramid just to get on the bus! Thankfully, I got there in time and I did not forget anything.... After that, rest.............
And now I am back in Penang, enjoying and relaxing as much as I can before it's too late to do so... you will find out soon enough.... That's it for today.

"BEE-utiful" Morning
Finally, something unusual to blog about! Well... it is not something to be proud of anyway...
For the past two days, we (the sisters and I) had noticed that there were a lot of big flies flying around our mail box especially in the afternoon. So we thought that maybe something had died there and we decided to leave it as it is. We had our own things to worry about. So yesterday, two sisters came by our place to visit us and they told us those things flying around the letter box are not flies but actually BEES!!!! Obviously we were really shocked when we heard that because they don't look like bees! Bees are supposed to be yellow in colour with black stripes at the tip. To us, these bees looked like flies but only bigger in size! This morning, with care and caution, we approached the mail box slowly... and we used a long rod to open the flap of the mailbox and we found...
I freaked out immediately! My goodness! It was HUGE!!!!!
For now, we had covered the mouth of the mailbox to prevent the bees from coming out of there. Now, we are just waiting for a brother to come and do the work of an exterminator. None of us dare to do it... Just by looking at it gives me the shivers...

The Long Forgotten Post
I just realized I have forgotten to publish this post!!! Although this is wayyy overdue, I am just gonna post it anyway.
*****
*****
Today is the Chinese 牛 Year eve!
We, the Chinese, would all be doing the same thing on this day. Last minute shopping! We woke up early in the morning to join the crowd in all the wet markets, most of them, across Penang! Just look at the ducks and chicken, they are RED!!!! Though there were plenty of people around, a lot of the stalls were closed for the day. Everyone is busy preparing for the reunion dinner.
******
I haven't done any food reviewing in quite a while... so here goes. The place is situated in Gurney Plaza, New Wing, directly besides Sakae Sushi.

It is called 眩升. It is the same branch located in Tanjung Tokong but that particular branch is specifically for steamboat. This one is just another typical Chinese restaurant.
Presentation-wise... is just so-so. Nothing special. However, with their price, a whole lot of improvement can be done!!

杨州香炒饭 海鲜炒生面 牛肉炒生面
As you can see, it doesn't look very yummy at all! We ordered a total of 4 dishes. Among the four, what I like is the 杨州香炒饭 and 家乡豆腐. Seriously, the fried rice is very moist and tasty. With char siew pieces and prawns, it was fried with enough oil, making it a very good dish. And for the tou fu, what did they do was they fried the mince beef together with thinly chopped salted fish and placed them over the steamed tou fu. Very very salty but nice. You should definitely try these two.
As for the other two, they are not very unique in the sense that the both noodles were poured over with the same gravy. Making their taste... basically the same. Although it was with different ingredients, they taste the same. Very boring.
*****
NOW this is totally unexpected!
"Girl, this is the doctor who delivered you."
"WHAT????"
The other day, I bumped into the doctor who delivered me from my mother's womb into this world!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! Whether I end up normal, alive, dead or just plain weird, was all in her hands for those critical times....!!!??!?! I don't know, it is just weird to meet that person. She is very thin but healthy-looking. I was in disbelief for a short while while my brain is slowly registering this newly discovered fact. After all my funny emotions began to settle down, my parents started telling me "the situations" that occured during my birth. It was really surprising to know this tiny detail. I was amazed and astounded why my parents never told me about it. Haha... maybe you all should dig out the tiny details about the process of your births, I am pretty sure you'll find something interesting and funny about it. =P

Of all days....
...something came into the house! Leaving a trail of blood too! The trail started from the balcony of my room, all the way down the stairs and ended at the entrance. I was like, 'Crap, I hope a cat did not bring something dead in the house to eat!' We searched high and low but couldn't find anything. My mum and I decided to clean up first, hopefully, the little rascal will come out on its own. While cleaning, my mum found shit on the floor. Based on its size, it is too small to be of a cat's, so it might have been a rat, mouse or squirrel. I was thinking, 'How could an animal shit when it is bleeding? Did it got so scared until it was unable to help itself? Or did nature called at the wrong time?' Hah! My mind was filled with unnecessary questions... After a while, we have found the culprit - my mum! Sigh, she must have accidentally cut her foot and she didn't even notice it! That explains the blood trail but not the shit. So, something DID came in but we do not know what it is and whether it is still IN the house or OUT... the mystery remained unsolved... for now. Gotta go back to packing and keeping the place tidy before we leave. Toodles!

Depending on HIM
You said it's luck, I say otherwise.
This morning I had my final Microbiology quiz! I do not need to go for lab sessions anymore! I was happy for a mere five minutes, I think and reality hits me again, I still have an Anatomy test tomorrow. So I went to the library to meet my friend Wan Chi and studied with her. Of course, we did spent half the time talking though.... well, we are GIRLS! But we DID studied quite a bit! As time flew by, we went for a briefing on our industrial training at the end of this year. Can you imagine? I am actually gonna WORK! Well... just for two months but hey, it's must be something that is really different from study life I presume. Maybe this will expose me in a whole new way that maybe I would appreciate study life a bit more. Been slacking lately whenever I get any little free time.
The best news that I heard all day is that our tomorrow's Anatomy Test is POSTPONED till October the third!!!! I was so relieved and happy! I have been so worried about it as I didn't give much effort studying it. I am really thankful to the Lord for giving one more chance to make up for my mistakes. Right now, I just feel so blessed! Hehe... Anyhoo, I shall turn in now.... rest is necessary but God is inevitable!

Over the Edge
I don't know what came over me today. I just went on and on and on... and nearly fainted...
For physiology lab today, we did an experiment on the difference of how much oxygen is consumed during resting and exercise. My group and I knew this was a simple experiment as we did something similar to this for our previous units. We passed the ball and I ended up being the subject for the day. All I have to do was breathe into the Spirometer (an equipment that measures the ventilation of the lungs) for 2 minutes when I am at rest, no moving basically and for 5 minutes when I am exercising on the indoor bicycle. Throughout the entire process, I need to clip my nose so that I would not breathe in or out through my nose which would affect the results of the practical. So I did the resting part and breathing in and out into the spirometer by a tube in my mouth was not as simple as it looks. It does limit my breathing in the sense that oxygen is confided in such a smaller space.
After that, I went out doing the exercise part. I was pedaling in a constant pace and breathing harder through the tube. Soon, I found it getting harder for me to breathe. Therefore, I closed my eyes and tried to focus on my breathing by breathing slowly. I don't know why I thought that the exercise would last for just two minutes only, so I pushed myself. I told myself 'it is just only for two minutes, you can do it'. I went on. And on. Slowly, I could feel that my surroundings was getting more and more quiet, until I couldn't hear anything anymore. I could only hear the pounding of my heart, beating so hard in me. Though I was sweating, I felt cold. That was the time, mentally I knew I had to stop as I could feel my body getting so vulnerable, but I couldn't. My legs just kept on cycling and they just wouldn't stop. From there, my friends in my group knew something was wrong and just stopped me. All I remembered was that someone stopped me and told me to lie down but anything that was in between, I am still clueless. I don't remember how they got me off the bicycle..... or did I came down myself.......
I felt much better when I was lying down. When I was lying down, my friends filled me in on what had happened. My friends told me that they called my name a few times when I was on the verge of fainting, but I didn't give any response to them. I was on that indoor bicycle for three minutes! They said my colour of my face just changed, and my hands were extremely cold. Apparently, my brain was deprived of oxygen for a short while, about ten to twenty seconds I think (not too sure though). My friend said that I could have die due to the lack of oxygen. I guessed I scared them for a moment there. However, when I was lying down, I wasn't praying that I was safe nor alive, I was praying that how could I be such an idiot to do something this embarrassing. I should have stopped but I didn't and I have no clue why on earth that I didn't cease myself. I did felt that it was really foolish of me.
I did feel oozy after the lab and had quite a headache during a class that comes after. Still felt tired and weak when I got back to where I stayed. It was only then that reality starts to sink in my mind and I started to pray for my health and that I don't suffer from brain damage. I just laid down on the floor and rested and slept. Feel much better now. Gotta get back to work then... It was definitely an experience that I would never thought that I could have.
For physiology lab today, we did an experiment on the difference of how much oxygen is consumed during resting and exercise. My group and I knew this was a simple experiment as we did something similar to this for our previous units. We passed the ball and I ended up being the subject for the day. BLAHHHHH
down with running nose.... sore throat... coughs..... and slowly into exhaustion. And I have a physiology report due tomorrow.... this can't be happening...*groan*
UPDATE* - I only have to hand in my report next week! that puts a little smile on my face :)

An Easy Riddle
Its defenses is as weak as an ant,
its odour is worse as bad as men's feet,
its sense of direction is absolutely nonsense,
yet as it wanders around,
it has the ability to make girls scream at the top of their lungs,
running faster than a cheetah,
with faces turning as pale as ghost.
What is it?

FLYING COCKROACH!!!
It may not be the best riddle, but I came up with the riddle within 5 minutes, so cut me some slack here. And yes, this unexpected visitor came to our house causing a lot of mayhem in the house. Two girls screaming, three girls trying to whack it down and one girl thought that it would be best to act ignorant. First the bird and now this???? What's next??

Helped A Bird and Killed a Lizard
16th July - Night

17th July - Night
I were downstairs to grab a drink to quench my thirst when I saw my housemate, Ho Ching was holding something in her hand and she was smiling mischievously as if she wanted to scare me with some disgusting or gruesome bug or animal. Instead, it was a really REALLY ADORABLE bird! Apparently this hapless bird had flow into my housemate's room and fell into the floor of her bathroom. She adores animals and so she picked it up and started to pat it gently on its head and slowly stroking it. The bird was just sitting there on her palm and letting her touch, such a docile creature. I also get the opportunity to hold it too, it was really really cute! Then, Krystal (another housemate) said that we should name the little creature. She came up with the name PETPET. I don't know how she figure that out but we were pretty much astounded.
Finally, we decided it was time to let it go to the big bad world. Petpet was hooked to Ho Ching's finger and wouldn't let go. It was drizzling a bit. Maybe Petpet was a bit frightened. However, we wanted to get back to our own stuff, we sort of force it to let go. It took a while and it pooped on Ho Ching's finger before it took off! Gee... great way to show gratitude, but I guess we put a little too much pressure on it. This is the kind of thing you don't see everyday. :)

17th July - Night
I personally don't like any rodents or bugs or lizards or spiders. Tonight, I have the opportunity.. wait, cut that, I have the obligation to kill a lizard. I am not afraid of them as long as they stay away from me and that they don't drop from the ceiling. At home, mum will be the exterminator, killing all the cockroaches, lizards and other gross creatures that I can't think of right now at this moment. Here, I have no choice. So I rolled up several sheets of newspaper, and stood as far as the length of my "weapon". WHACK! miss it~ WHACK! WHACK! WHACK! damn! miss it again. After several blows, it was coming right at me and I was jumped and slammed down the newspaper at it even more. Finally, I got it. What a relief! I'm glad that's over.
